Tima Williams, Assistant Principal
I am a single mom with two beautiful teenage daughters and LOTS of pets (my youngest daughter wants to major in animal science). I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, creating art, and volunteering. Helping others makes me happy!
I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Learning Disabilities K-12 with minors in Psychology and Art from Appalachian State University. I hold a K-12 license for Academically Gifted Education and am highly qualified in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I graduated from the Executive Leadership Program at Western Carolina with a Master’s Degree in School Administration. I am Nationally Board Certified in Exceptional Needs Birth to Young Adult and am a regional, state, and national presenter. I am a Master Literacy Trainer, a Reading Research to Classroom Practice Trainer, and a Math Foundations Trainer for the state. I am currently pursuing Montessori School Leadership Certification.
I have been an educator for over 20 years with experience teaching and coaching in all grades, preschool to college, and in multiple content areas. I have been a national educational consultant for the last eleven years and have focused my recent research on differentiation, specific feedback and job-embedded professional development. This will be my 6th year in Asheville City Schools where I spent 4 years as a district curriculum specialist and last year as an administrator opening Western North Carolina’s first public Montessori school.
I look forward to helping create high quality educational opportunities for the students and families through the unique experiences available at Dickson.
