• Montford North Star Academy is a new addition to the Asheville City Schools system serving grades 6-8. Our magnet theme is STEAM which technically stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. However, similar to the North Carolina STEM Center, we also view it as "Strategies That Engage All Minds." A rigorous Project Based Learning and a constructivist methodology are vital components of our curriculum.
