School social workers are trained mental health professionals with a Bachelors or Masters degree in social work.  School social workers are the link between home, school and community. School social workers provide direct, as well as indirect, services to students, families, and school personnel including monitoring school attendance, promoting dropout prevention, identification of at-risk students, crisis prevention, and conflict resolution.
