Hello!

My name is Lauren Graham and I'm excited to join the APS family this year. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and recently graduated from Western Carolina University with a Master's in School Counseling. I also hold an Associate license in Clinical Metal Health Counseling (LCMHC-A) and have experience working in elementary, middle, and high school settings. I love working in the school system and being a resource and advocate for all students! Outside of the workplace, I love to learn and often spend my free time reading, practicing Spanish, and learning to become a social justice advocate. Other hobbies include reading, CrossFit, quilting, playing mini golf, and spending time with my family. I have two fur-babies, Molly and Wilson, and am married to my best friend, Mattew. I am lucky enough to have my parents and siblings close by in Asheville.

I serve all students on the traditional preschool and Montessori halls. Direct services provided to students include individual, small group, and classroom counseling. Professional School Counselors provide students with skills and resources to facilitate academic, social/emotional, and career development. The School Counseling Program at APS is closely aligned to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) and integrates necessary life skills that prepare students for success in the 21st century. My goal first and foremost is to make students feel valued, safe, and confident in their abilities. I strive to view barriers to success from a systemic perspective and through a lens of equity. I am always looking for feedback and would love to hear from you with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. I love to connect with families and can't wait to get to know my new community here at Asheville Primary School! Because I am often away from my desk, assisting students, and visiting classrooms, the best way to reach me is by email.
