Asheville City Schools has the option to use remote learning strategies during inclement weather. Doing so means students can complete remote learning assignments on a "Snow Day" without interrupting the school calendar. Students and staff will not need to drive on icy roads, and we won't lose any instructional hours, so we can complete the school year on schedule. ACS Inclement Weather Information
For 7th and 8th Graders: Assignments will be posted by 9am on each Canvas Course for any Inclement Weather Day called by ACS. Students are responsible for completing and submitting the work on Canvas within 5 days in order to be counted present for that day, and to be given credit for the assignment.
For 6th Graders: The "6th Grade Inclement Weather Packet" has assignments for each core class for three days. For each Inclement Weather Day, students are responsible for completing the work and turning it in to the core teachers within 5 days in order to be counted present for that day, and to be given credit for the assignment. Paper copies of this packet were sent home with students in the first week of January. A digital copy of the packet can also be found on each 6th grade teacher’s Canvas course.
