McKenzie Alexander Wins Victor E. Bell Scholarship

Now, if this doesn’t make you proud to be part of the Cougar Family, nothing will! Asheville Middle School 7th Grader McKenzie Alexander just found outs she’s won the Victor E. Bell Scholarship.

The scholarship was established to assist high potential North Carolina students to pursue higher education. It is accepted at all public North Carolina universities, encouraging students with academic ability and promise to maintain their scholastic standing and achieve a college degree.

Each scholarship recipient receives $2,000 per year, starting now thru their four years of college, up to $20,000.

McKenzie is an A-Honor Roll student, an AVID scholar, and loves to complete volunteer projects through Stevens-Lee Center’s after-school opportunity.
