Do The Write Thing Winners

Asheville City middle schoolers have powerful voices that deserve to be heard.

Each year, hundreds of ACS middle schoolers ensure their voices are heard by participating in the Do the Write Thing Challenge, a writing program for students organized by the U.S. National Campaign to Stop Violence.

Between Asheville City and Buncombe County Schools, we had more than 1,500 student essays this year and are looking forward to live-streaming the results on our Facebook Page on Friday, May 15th at 3:00 PM.

Following this important announcement by R. Andrew Murray, United States Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, the names of our winners will be shared on Asheville City Schools' website, Twitter and Instagram.
