Thanksgiving Week Reminders
In celebration of Thanksgiving, all buildings across Asheville City Schools will be closed next week, November 23rd - 27th. As you know, our staff have gone above and beyond these past eight months, so, as a small token of his appreciation, Dr. Gene’s decided that everyone can work remotely on Monday and Tuesday. Please know remote instruction WILL continue as planned for students on the 23rd and 24th; our educators will simply be carrying it out from the comfort of their homes.
With staff working from home, our food distribution sites will NOT be serving meals next week. But, please be sure to grab your weekend packs when picking up meals at either our school-based or open sites this Friday.
Our community-based PODS will also be closed next Monday and Tuesday. Therefore, should your child traditionally attend, know they are NOT to report to their community-based site and will instead be learning from home next week.
Now, on to actual time away from school...Next Wednesday, November 25th is a holiday for students and an annual leave day for staff. Both Thursday and Friday are holidays for each person across the district.
If your Thanksgiving plans have you on the roads, certainly be safe and check out these resources from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services about celebrating safely.
In a year filled with so many unknowns, one thing is certain. We are thankful to have you as part of our Cougar family and hope your holiday is a restful one!
Thank you for your continued support, and believe it or not, when we come back there are only three weeks left in the Fall Semester.
