2021 Summer Programming

We are excited to announce that Asheville City Schools will be offering six weeks of academic summer programming divided into two three-week sessions from June 7 to June 24 and July 12 to July 29.

There will be a two-week vacation window between the two sessions for our families and staff. The hours of operation will be Monday - Thursday, 8:00am to 3:00pm for elementary students and 8:30am to 3:30pm for secondary students.

ACS Summer Programming is available at NO COST to families; meals and transportation are provided.

As required by the state, summer programming will include instruction in reading, math, and science for grades K-8 with opportunities for credit recovery for high school students.

Schools are in the process of reviewing student data and current classroom progress and inviting students who are still working toward grade-level proficiency goals as set by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Students in grades 9-12 who are in need of credit recovery opportunities will be invited to participate in high school summer programming. Students in grades K-8 who are interested in participating in summer programming can complete this Google Form to request to attend as space allows. Priority placement for available spots will be given to students who are still working toward grade-level proficiency goals as set by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
